I know, I know…we’ve been lagging in some major updates over here. Choke me with a cucharra if you will.

In between this thing we call life, things happen. Also at times music can become a sort of lackluster of newness that is not so appealing to the air of sound, that one can’t feel inspired by it. That’s just “at times.” So forgive us, we go through things too, but we’re still here to rock it. You just have to give us a sprinkle of leeway on our music-discovery -cupcake here and there.

One to get me to a buzz of news-worthy loveliness this morning is the described Philly ‘sedative-wave/smooth-fi’ duo Work Drugs, who gets down to business giving you a nice edit of  Little Scream’s “The Heron and the Fox.”

Laced with a tinge of emotive pop that belongs to that of The National and Arcade Fire, “The Heron and the Fox” rightfully commands attention for its straight-forward beauty. However Work Drugs rework replaces sparseness with soft-focus indie pop that tweaks singer Laurel Sprengelmeyer’s voice into the realm of contemporaries like Nite Jewel.
